10 Arabian Mares, Starvation Seizure April 29, 2011

Amore.jpg

Amore, nice older mare, super cute and loveable.

no61no2_0.jpg

Ayah- This mare is only about 18 and was so starved that she lost her foal within the last month. She is in critical condition at this point.

no10.jpg

Marley, named for her dreadlock of a tail we are slowly combing out. Marley arrived skittish and spooky, but now comes easily and accepts handling.

mel.jpg

We call this girl "Mel", as she has a large melanoma on her throatlatch. We'll come up with a better name soon.

myfavorite.jpg

Johara, Arabic for "Jewel", because this mare is one. This mare is my personal favorite. She's gorgeous and she's super friendly with a huge, kind eye.

noseyrosey.jpg

Nosey Rosey!!! We love this girl, and she's constantly in your pocket. Looks like she competed at some point in her life, as she has stifle effusions and is not 100% sound.

Praline.jpg

We call her Praline, because she's sweet, but she's also a little nutty! Spooky and hard to catch, volunteer Paul had to whisper sweet nothings to her for an hour to catch her.

rosegray.jpg

Nadirah, super sweet and thinks people=FOOD!!! Comes cantering and nickering "Hello!" to anyone who is near.

Stormy.jpg

Stormy, our youngest horse at only 4 years old. Skittish and nearly completely unhandled. Very fearful of people but coming around. Very headshy.

wildfire.jpg

Wildfire, this mare is so fun, so friendly, and SO ITCHY!!! Really a nice horse, and not wild at all.
