Butters, 4 year old Belgian Mare
Butters when she was rescued....
Meet Butters, an adorably sized 4 year old Belgian mare, with sweet doe eyes to die for! Butters was rescued in November 2010 from auction, where we found her malnourished, in severe respiratory distress, and with a punctured eye. Our vet rushed to the auction house to begin treatment on Butters right away. She was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, and will have some amount of permanent vision loss in her right eye from what appears to be an old untreated wound. This is Butters the day after the sale, with two doses of antibiotics she was able to travel home! That's right- she was SO SICK, we couldn't move her right away.

Butters is now a robust and healthy young mare, and she's ready for an exciting new life. Butters is going walk/trot/canter, but is still very green. Butters is a very kind and straightforward ride, but she's still quite young mentally and physically. She's wiggly and unbalanced, but she's easy to ride and she always tries her hardest to please her rider.

Butters is about cute as a button, and yes- she was named after the Southpark character. She's the cutest mix of Haflinger and Belgian, so she's not too big, and not too small.
Butters only has a little to go to be a perfect horse. She still has to master bathing, shots, and having her tummy rubbed. She's still a baby and there's plenty of time for good experiences.
