Foxy, 8 year old Quarter Horse Mare

Foxy 003.jpg

Foxy arrived to us from a group of 18 starving and severely neglected horses who were surrendered to Carroll County's SPCA.  The horses were distributed throughout Maryland rescues with the help of Days End Farm Horse Rescue.  Despite not being a draft, we couldn't turn her away with her charming and inquisitive personality, and stunning good looks.  Here Foxy diligently oversees the work crew building her new shedShe watched all day.

Unfortunately, Foxy has chronic lameness issues, and is not sound for riding.  She has Navicular and a shoulder injury that prevent her from working, but she is active and happy in the pasture, and tends to be alpha mare in most groups.  Foxy has had full veterinary exams, and we have been unsuccessful in improving her condition.  She would be an ideal companion to an older or less active horse, and would greatly enjoy a home who likes to groom and fuss on her.
