Hateful Kate

Summer2011222.jpg

Hateful Kate was removed this past winter from her adoptive home in a neglected state. She has since been rehabilitated and is ready to start work.

Hateful Kate or "Katred" as we call her around the barn, had always required a very firm and prepared handler on the ground as she'd much prefer to do her own thing, no matter what the human leading her wants her to do! She's perfected the art of pulling away and taking side trips to sightsee around the rest of the farm.  Her ground manners are irritatingly deplorable, but not dangerous or mean.  At some point in her life she learned that she's bigger than us and can simply leave whenever she gets the urge to do so.  Keeping her engaged and interested is a huge key, and luckily Katred loves people and likes to work.  Her antics amuse most handlers, but she would likely intimidate a nervous or beginner handler.

Kate likes to work and enjoys going places and doing adventurous things.  She has trail ridden extenisvely and also camped.  Look at that expression- sheer joy for her work!!!!

Here Kate and volunteer Taylor take a nice canter through the pasture.

This mare is character, but is sweet at heart and is a diamond in the rough.  A reliable ride, with nerves of steel, under saddle she's as steady as they come.  On the ground, she likes to pull away and be pushy.  Oddly enough, she stands like a dream for the Vet and Farrier.  Loads, Bathes, Ties if it's a strong rope. (thats a joke- sort of.)

Adoption fee $200.
