Honey

P6300273.JPG

Honey has just turned three years old, and is a Belgian filly. She was one of the starved horses impounded by Warren County Humane Society for starvation and neglect. We refer to those horses as the "PA 9".

Honey is sweet and affectionate, and adores attention. She has nice manners for her age, and is easy to be around. Honey already has the droopy sleepy lower lip indicative of a truly great Belgian!  She is being started under saddle slowly, as draft horses take longer to mature than light breed horses.  She is riding at a walk and starting work at the trot, and will begin some trails this summer.  Honey was started with a firm foundation of ground work, including ground driving, and works just as well in a hackamore as a bit.

Here is a short video of honey riding with a bit in her mouth for the first time.  We used a Happy Mouth Straight Bar bit, since she has a sensitive mouth and is new to accepting her cues from a bit.

Here is Honey in her gorgeous summer coat.  She will make a lovely horse for nearly any rider.  Quiet disposition, easy to get along with, willing learner, and good looks to boot!

Adoption Fee $600.
