Patty H.P. (H.P. stands for HorsePower), 10 year old Registered Clydesdale mare. Patty has been a show driver and brood mare for most of her life, and despite her quality and heritage, she ended up at a slaughter sale when the breeder who owned her dispersed of his herd. Patty is a perfect of example of how every single good horse is one bad home away from slaughter. No horse is safe unless you personally are responsible for them, so please think about the long term care of any horse you own or consider owning.
So, back to Patty. I LOVE THIS MARE. Patty is a personable quick learner, who enjoys affection, pampering, and attention. She was reported to have show driven, but we found her green to drive and not trained well enough to be without a lead horse. She is started under saddle and took a rider with ease, but is still learning leg aids and being supple. She tends to just truck around following her nose, but she's a good honest ride.

Patty will be showing this year at many county fair Draft Shows, and is even going to the Maryland State Fair. She's not ready for trail rides quite yet, but once we have a little more finesse she'll be started on trail riding. She's such a smart mare, it won't take long. Patty is a simple, straightforward ride with no vices.

Patty still requires sedation to have her hooves trimmed, but she is making good progress with every trim. She stands to be bathed, she fly sprays, she cross ties, she trailer loads beautifully, and she's great for the vet. She doesn't clip. Ever.
This is a really, really, really nice horse. Currently not suitable for a beginner, but should be with some miles.
