Some of the horses here at Gentle Giants are permanent residents, for one reason or another. You will most likely meet these horses on your visit, so please be sure to bring a few extra carrots or cookies! Please meet our extended family!

Our Resident Horses:
Fiona: Everyone falls for Fiona! She is our official mascot, does all of our "Meet and Greet" Events, Parades, and also works as a "loaner horse" so friends or family can join on a ride.We personally believe she just might be the best horse ever, especially since she is blind in one eye! Fiona remains with us because she does not pick up her feet. Let's hope she never learns!
Darsey: Darsey is very limited in her riding by arthritis She's a sweet but opinionated horse, and still goes out for light trail rides. She will most likely also work lightly in our lesson program when it begins. Darsey is also the proud momma of Remington.
Tristan is a 12 year old American Cream Draft Gelding. You may meet him on trail rides (his favorite!) and he frequently gives riding lessons, too! Tristan is so handsome, and a very rare breed.

Ellie Mae is sponsored by Mrs. E. Borgstadt of N.Y. Thank you for your support!
Ellie Mae: Ellie was rescued two years ago and has a very special place in our hearts. She has suffered horrific abuse in her life, and is terrified of people. We do ride her, but she currently only allows people she knows near her. She enjoys trails, especially since she's the alpha mare and likes to know what the group is up to! She may be available to the right person if they come along.
Jonas: Jonas is Susan's rescued belgian, and he resides at her farm. Jonas is literally famous, at 18.3 hands tall, no one who sees him EVER forgets him. He is amazing- safe for anyone, but also a 3 Day Eventer! There isn't anything this handsome boy can't do.
Sadie: Sadie is an off of the track Thoroughbred rescued from New Holland two years ago. She is a wonderful beginner horse, and will be working in our lesson program. Sadie, whose racing name was Sweet Turn, shows how great an OTT TB can become- she goes English or Western, and can jump the moon! Even though she's not a giant, we let her stay since she's extra gentle.
